Meet the Directors
dhc is owned and run by four working directors, Richard Gyles, Tim Bishop, Matt Garman and James Rowell. Read on to find out more about their background and experiences.
Richard Gyles
Work Life - Having started dhc with Tim in 1995, I now have overall responsibility for the financial software solutions business at dhc with my specific role being focused on customer service covering support and account management.
Home Life - With two growing children most of my spare time is spent watching them compete at various sports, but I like to get out and about completing or training for long distance mountain bike challenges (I highly recommend the South Downs way) and in the winter season my passion is skiing.
Loves - For me there’s nothing better than being sat on top of a hill or mountain ready for the challenge and the reward of a beer or two at the bottom.
Tim Bishop
Work Life - After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, I worked for 10 years in finance based roles (mainly IT industry) including two Financial Directorships. My enthusiasm for IT then shone through and in 1995 Richard and I set up dhc. I have two core areas of responsibility; my primary role is Implementation and Projects Director and I also have responsibility for the Finance function.
Home Life - My free time is spent with my family (wife and two children) and on the sea - wind permitting! Having windsurfed for 25 years or so, I took up kite surfing three years ago and I love it!
Loves - Wind and waves, cold beer on a hot sunny day, Rennies when you need them and snowboarding in Powder.
Matt Garman
Work Life - I joined dhc at the end of 2006 having previously owned and run another technology business in Sussex. I would consider myself as an enthusiastic, vocal and energetic individual that applies a real entrepreneurial approach to our business. At dhc I am responsible for a number areas including: strategy, sales management, managing our partner alliances as well as heading up our CRM practice.
Home Life - I live on the South Coast with my wife and two young children. In my spare time I like to get involved in as many physical activities as possible including Triathlons (soon to be Ironman), Rugby, Indoor Rowing and Kayaking in the summer.
Loves - Fresh air, travel, food, drink and meeting interesting people
James Rowell
Work Life - I joined dhc in 2001 after completing a diploma in Computer Science. Having grown our software development capability, I was invited to the Board in 2007. Primarily I’m responsible for the software development function which delivers product, integration and bespoke solutions. I also review new technologies to understand how best these can serve our customers and keep dhc delivering innovative solutions. My overall aim is to deliver maximum value to customer organisations.
Home Life - Much of my time is spent with my wife and daughter, who keep me on my toes! I enjoy getting out on the bike and playing some golf, time permitting.
Loves - All mountain biking, music by Muse, movies and the cosmos.
